THE 42 days AFTER Shoes.

We go for breakfast as usual and do some tidy up with the my apartment so that it is ready for us to return to Ms Wang. The room is cleaned and we left our hostel to Wuhan Domestic Airport. The weather in Wuhan for today is rather hot and stuffy, a cooler weather of Singapore.

Home sweet home.

Looking back at these 42 days, it's been a fun and enjoyable trip with Mr wee and the rest of my trip mates.

Times we shared our tears, joy and sadness with my friends. Getting emotional whiplash is not my forte, but it's getting more and more uncontrollable when I am not home.

But last but not least, it's time for me to kiss goodbye Wuhan, welcome Singapore.

Graduation
Someone's certificate
My Certificate !!

Today is our graduation day.
We had our Director Wong Kiafu to have a speech about our 42 days in Wuhan.
His speech touched many of our hearts. I took his speech from his blog:

Our graduation ends with the photo taking session which lasted for 10 minutes.

We eat in one of the Chinese restaurant in Chicony. The sumptuous feast in the restaurant is unforgivably delicious. The first dish is the spicy chicken soup. It is the most not-so-salty I drank so far. We had 13 dishes and it is Mr Wee's treat.
We had the WIT student councilors to sit with us to enjoy our meal. We went to Chicony's supermart for some last minute shopping and took bus home.
I talked to one of the WIT students and found the lifestyle for china students is much more different from Singapore:

  • In Singapore, we stayed in our house when we are studying. We normally move out of the house when we got married and rarely leaves our comfort zone. For China students, they are eager to move out of their house when they decides to study University.
  • In Singapore, we travel up to 2 hours to our school whereas China student, they would travel at least 4 hours to go back their home.
  • Not all the students have the opportunity to go back home twice or once a month. Only a few richer student can afford the expenses. As for the rest of the students, they would return to their home during the summer or winter holiday.
Reflecting over this short conversation between me and her, I realise that Singaporean are less risk taking for their studies. Most of the Singaporeans would prefer to stay in their own country or somewhere in their comfort zone whereas the Chinese in China would prefer to study outside, or somewhere far from their home town.

Just One More Day to Go.

The different types of MacDonald pie

I did not go out today.
I have been watching Korean drama show, 太阳的女人, for the whole day. The storyline is splendid. It's about revenge of 2 sisters, whom the elder sister have no blood relationship with the younger sister and abandon the younger sister in the train station and how they met again.
Some parts of the drama is a little draggy but still okay. I still love this drama.

Then, I went out for dinner at Houcaller. For my 17 years (going to 18 years) of life, I never know the chicken steak is cooked at different percentage. To me, as long as the food is cooked, I would eat it. There are just too much of things to learn about food.

Went home after dinner. Yawns.

3 more days.
We went to Hankou again for the 3rd time in my life. It is also our last time going to Hankou.
We were supposed to take hippo, but due to our bad luck, we did not have the best price we want and take taxi instead.

We went to Si men kou for our lunch and ate my 冰糖葫芦. I'll miss it when I return to Singapore. Goodbye my 冰糖葫芦, goodbye my 三鲜豆皮.

We took taxi to Hankou for shopping. We reached there rather early. The unexpected rain seems to be describing my unexpected moodswings. Waiting for the rest for a while and start our spree.

Later in the night, some of us were hungry and went into a restaurant for dinner while other continue to shop in Meterbonwe. The food is not really fanstastic, I should continue to stick on my Macdonald and KFC.

Day 38

Happy Birthday Eileen!
This is our last birthday celebration in Wuhan. Our birthday girl is having her... (drum rolls please) 19th Birthday today!

As for today, we did not have full celebration with Eileen since we had our outing today.
We went to 4 places:
Yellow Crane Tower is build in the 2 century. The tour guide mentioned about the interesting myth behind the building of Yellow Crane tower. Many Parts of Yellow Crane Tower has been destroyed and rebuild throughout the centuries. The tower is also constructed in a way that the front of the building is facing North, back is south, the sides are west and east since the main function of the tower is for military uses.

I love the myth the most. It was said that once upon time, there was one Taoist went to one of the restaurant and get free beer from the kind heart owner. Before the Taoist left, he gave the owner a piece of drawing - Yellow Crane. The yellow crane will come alive if the owner touch the drawing. So one day, the owner out of curiosity touch the drawing. Yellow crane came out from the drawing and danced . This attracted many guests and customers and prosper the owner's business. After a long while, the old Taoist came back. He ride on the Yellow crane and fly to the sky. The owner then realise he is the one of the 8 immortals, Lv Dong Bing.

We visit the park. There are many statues that are made based on Da Yu Legend. We saw alot of couples are taking their wedding photo in park. Indeed, the park is really pretty. It should be the best place for taking photos.

Wuhan Zoo is one of the largest zoo in China, and it is where Xiwang 希望 and Weiwei 伟伟 are being put in. They seems to be enjoying themselves in the heat. In the zoo, there are many other animals are kept in. I find the zoo is not well kept as I could not see zoo keeper around. Unlike Singapore Zoo, all their animals are put in the cage, whether the animal is dangerous or not. The peacock showed their feathers spices up the boring walk in the Zoo. Their feathers are truly one of the most beautiful things in the world.

We also went for the animal circus show during the late afternoon. The first half of the performance was okay and I am pretty impressed by the animals. At the second part of performance, some family left the place. I was curious but I did not know why until the performance started. The cruelty of the performer was really brutal. If the bear did not comply or not do well in the rollar blading, they would force them to or whipped them. I realise our animals in Singapore are really fortunate since they does not need to being force to do things they couldn't do.

We did not went into the threater. We were drove pass the threater. I heard that the threater is use for holding international musical performance.

Afterward, we went to Chicony and had our dinner in the Japanese restaurant. We went back to the hostel and I went to the hostel next block to search for my stuffs. I saw many people crowded outside Mustafa's apartment (Eileen's neighbour). I get to know Kuan Wee's awesome guitar playing and Tee Yong's superb drumming skills. They are really good in music, the category which I could not do well for my whole life. I was surprised by Kiafu who rapping Numb. It was a very funny scene. Jinrong's guitar skills is awfully good also. I am very fortunate to have many great musicans in my Wuhan's trip.

We celebrate Eileen's birthday there. I heard that she was really touched by us and cried quietly. Oh well, Happy 19th birthday:)

Veggies is the best dish ever
Look at the fats! But they tasted simply too delicious!

We had our Dinner in Mao Tze Dong, at last!

Due to money constraint, we ordered 7 dishes instead of the full course 11 dishes.

The meal is fulfilling even though we are utterly disappointed by furnishing in Mao Tze Dong Restaurant. I thought it would be a very simple but tidy place, but it seems that I'm wrong.

After our dinner, we went back to hostel and we meet the rest at level 2 to plan for Eileen's birthday.

We are scolded by French man who lived next to Bernice-Xiujin's apartment. Without listening to our explaination, he walk away after venting out all this unhappiness.

Our surprise for Eileen's birthday today became bubbles after that. What a spoilsport he is!
I went back to sleep afterthat.
